WG Micro Silica
Dry silica fume powder for high-performance concrete and specialty mortars built for durability-focused infrastructure works.
Product Overview
WALLGRIP MICROSILICA® is a dry silica fume powder used in cementitious systems to improve the properties and performance of high-performance concrete and specialised mortar formulations.
It supports concrete performance in two ways:
- Physically: optimises particle packing in the mix
- Chemically: acts as a highly reactive pozzolan
Available Grades
- Undensified (U): typical bulk density 200–350 kg/m³
- Densified (D): typical bulk density 500–700 kg/m³
This page focuses on the Densified grade (D).
Where It's Used
Ideal for concrete applications where long-term durability and performance are critical especially infrastructure works.

Metro & Tunnel Concrete Works
High-durability concrete lining for underground transit and tunnel infrastructure.

Piles / Deep Foundation
Concrete Performance concrete for deep foundation elements requiring long-term structural integrity.

Raft Foundations Heavy-duty structural pours
demanding impermeability and compressive strength.

Specialised Mortar Formulations
Improves performance of specialty mortar systems for infrastructure applications.
Key Benefits
Enhanced Concrete Performance
Improves properties and performance of high-performance concrete and specialised mortars for durability-led structures.
Dual-Action Mechanism
Works as a particle packing improver (fills micro void behaviour) and a reactive pozzolan (performance contribution).
Targeted Engineering Outcomes
Helps engineers target strength, durability and impermeability objectives in durability-led structures.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is WALLGRIP MICROSILICA® used for?
What is the difference between Undensified and Densified microsilica?
Undensified (U) has typical bulk density 200–350 kg/m³, while Densified (D) has typical bulk density 500–700 kg/m³.
How does microsilica help concrete performance?
It acts physically to optimise particle packing and chemically as a highly reactive pozzolan.
How should microsilica be stored on site?
Store in dry conditions and protect from moisture; keep away from HF and avoid storage near or below 0°C.
